Songs we dare Bec to walk down the aisle to

October 9, 2007 on 10:14 pm | In Friends |

A top ten list compiled on behalf of the wedding party by Paul, Jess and Analise:

10. I got you Babe - Cher
9. She Bangs - Ricky Martin
8. Papa Don’t Preach - Madonna
7. All Night Long - Lionel Ritchie
6. Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
5. You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate
4. A Little Less Conversation (a little more action) - Elvis
3. I Get Around - The Beach Boys
2. Barbie Girl - Aqua
1. I still haven’t found what I’m looking for - U2

We are taking suggestions in the comments for the recessional song (the one they play as the couple walk out).
So far we’ve got:

10.  I will survive - Gloria Gaynor
9. Highway to Hell - ACDC
8. He’s going the distance - Cake

And yes - this didn’t start out being as mean as it ended up but we still think it’s funny.

  1. A suggestion on number 9 of the processional variety:

William Hung sings a much better version than Ricky Martin.

    Also, recessional:
    Take Me Away - Lash
    Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
Still Fighting It - Ben Folds
Save Me - Remy Zero (theme to Smallville)
Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ - Scissor Sisters

(in case Geoff or Bec reads this… you should probably know i’m kidding by now. :P)

  2. They played “Another One bites the Dust” when K and i left our reception…nice!

I’ve always wanted to see a bride walk down the aisle to Rod Stewarts “if you think I’m sexy” but I’ve never been able to convince anybody to do it.

  3. You missed a few:

Bad to the Bone - George Thorogood and the Destroyers
Most People I Know (Think That I’m Crazy) - Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs
We Gotta Get Out Of This Place - The Animals

Of course if it turns out that Bec is offended by this list then I was naturally always against it and I heap scorn on you for even thinking it was ever funny.

  6. My wife walked into Cat Power’s version of “the Sea of Love” (Sung by a Bridesmaid), we walked out to “On top of the world” by all girl punk trio Shonen Knife. We signed the register to “Today” by the smashing pumpkins, and walked in to our reception to Rage against the Machine’s “Gorilla Radio”. I did have a friend who insisted that any one he married would have to walk down the isle to “better man” by pearl jam.
