My Ugly Blog Design: Finally some recognition
I am both thrilled and honoured to have my blog named on the fugly awards website.
I was never going to win any graphic design awards for having a good blog... so being recognised at all for having a blog that's this badly hacked together leaves me wondering if I have any animated gifs saved on my computer somewhere that I can share with you.
Of course, if my blog design offends you, I highly suggest that you use an RSS reader so that you don't have to look at it. I don't really look at it myself. That's the whole point of a site feed.
I'm actually not sure about the level of research that the fugly site has done in finding its collection of blogs though. Obviously they found my blog through Kate's. One of Kate's links is also listed there.
So while in one sense, my 15 bytes of fame comes from sheer luck - of Steven Bradbury proportions - I think this serves as an extremely good reason for people like Geoff, actually, only Geoff, to refrain from picking on my blog design (which I like to call "customised default"). The digital metrosexuality with which Geoff carefully cultivates and then talks about his blog design, is never going to win him any prizes. And mostly I just felt like giving him a bit of a stir.
I, on the other hand, have nowhere else to go from here but down. The earth's core is the limit. I should probably start thinking about getting a myspace account.

Dearest Paulie, a look at the amount of grime regularly found beneath my fingernails will attest to the fallacy of any claim of "digital metrosexuality". But I appreciate the fact that such you take the time out of your busy, new-found W-grade blogging celebrity fame to insult the minions like myself.
And I'm not sure I remember having too much of a go at your design at any rate - the site does much too good a job for it to be worth my while.
Well now I just feel bad. How annoying. I was hoping you'd play along and give the readers something to get into. Oh well.
I'll have everyone know, that Pauly actually designed my pretty pink blog for me. So he can't be all bad. :P
